Egyptian football goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, renowned for his role at Al Ahly Club and the national team, is set to return to Cairo today after undergoing shoulder dislocation surgery in Germany.
The operation was necessitated by an injury sustained during Egypt’s match against Cape Verde in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Cote d’Ivoire.
El-Shenawy commenced his rehabilitation program to recover from the shoulder dislocation after undergoing arthroscopic surgery in Germany in recent days.
The goalkeeper has begun outlining his personalized therapeutic regimen as prescribed by the German specialist who performed the shoulder stabilization procedure.
Mohamed El-Shenawy’s absence from Al Ahly is confirmed for a three-month duration, during which he will undergo a rehabilitation program to ensure his readiness for participation in group training sessions and subsequently return to his team’s matches.
El-Shenawy suffered a significant injury in the final minutes of the Egypt vs. Cape Verde match, concluding the third round of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage with a 2-2 draw.
Following this injury, coordination between the national team and Al Ahly was established, leading to the decision for Mohamed El-Shenawy to seek treatment in Germany.
