Nigeria striker Abdulrahman Sabiya joins free-agent ranks after DFK Dainava exit

Nigeria centre-forward Abdulrahman Sabiya has joined the ranks of unattached players after leaving Lithuanian club DFK Dainava.

The 20-year-old ended his time with Dainava on 5 August 2026, shortly after arriving at the club from Zalgiris B. The move to Dainava had also been completed without a transfer fee on 27 June, giving Sabiya a brief spell with the side before his departure.

Sabiya made eight appearances in the I Lyga during his recent period in Lithuania and scored one goal. He recorded 210 minutes of league football, with his goal coming at an average of one every 210 minutes.

The left-footed striker stands 1.89m tall and has played as a centre-forward throughout his recorded senior career. His move to Zalgiris B followed a spell with Ballkani U19, whom he joined from Al-Najma U19 in July 2025. Before that, he had been with KF Teuta U19.

Sabiya’s career has therefore included moves across youth and senior football in several countries before his latest change in status. He joined Ballkani U19 from Al-Najma U19 without a fee and had earlier moved from KF Teuta U19 to Al-Najma U19 on the same basis.

His most recent competitive experience came with Dainava in the I Lyga, where he made eight appearances after switching from Zalgiris B. The Nigerian forward now leaves the club without a new team listed after his departure.

Sabiya’s exit from DFK Dainava was completed on 5 August 2026, leaving the 20-year-old available as an unattached player.
