Newcastle play down reports of deal for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa

Newcastle have rejected reports that they have reached an agreement with Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa, with the club’s sporting director Ross Wilson insisting there is no deal or advanced negotiation involving the Algeria international.

Speculation linking Hadj Moussa with a move to Newcastle gathered pace in recent days. Several media outlets reported that the 23-year-old had agreed personal terms with the Premier League club on a five-season contract.

Those reports also claimed discussions between Newcastle and Feyenoord were at an advanced stage, raising the prospect of Hadj Moussa leaving the Dutch club before the end of the transfer window.

However, Newcastle have moved quickly to distance themselves from the claims. Wilson told 365Scores that the information circulating in recent days did not reflect the reality of the situation.

The comments represent a clear attempt by the English club to play down suggestions that a transfer is close. No agreement has been reached with Hadj Moussa, while Newcastle also deny that negotiations with Feyenoord have progressed to an advanced stage.

Hadj Moussa remains focused on Feyenoord

Despite the growing speculation surrounding his future, Hadj Moussa has returned to Feyenoord training following his holiday and is continuing his preparations for the new season as normal.

The Algeria winger remains focused on his work with the Dutch club, even though a move before the transfer window closes has not been completely ruled out.

Hadj Moussa remains under contract with Feyenoord until 30 June 2030 and is still regarded as an important member of the club’s squad. His long-term agreement means Feyenoord retain control over his situation, should further interest develop.

The player’s current market value is estimated at 23 million euros by Transfermarkt. Hadj Moussa earns an annual salary of 490,000 euros, equivalent to 318,500,000 FCFA.

For now, however, Newcastle’s position is that there is no agreement with the player and no advanced talks with Feyenoord. Hadj Moussa continues to prepare for the upcoming campaign with the Rotterdam club while uncertainty remains over whether the latest transfer speculation will lead to a formal approach before the end of the window.
