Napoli weigh move for Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu

Noah Atubolu, the Germany-Nigeria goalkeeper at Freiburg, has been linked with a move to Napoli in a potential switch from the Bundesliga to Serie A.

Atubolu is 24 and has a market value of €25m, placing him among the more significant reported transfer links involving the Italian club this summer. The rumour was recorded on 5 August 2026, with no probability attached to the proposed move.

The goalkeeper remains under contract with Freiburg until 30 June 2027. That deal means the German club retain his registration for the upcoming season and would be in a position to negotiate a transfer rather than risk losing him as a free agent in the immediate future.

Atubolu’s current club compete in Germany’s top flight, while Napoli are preparing for another campaign in Italy’s Serie A. The possible move would therefore represent a change of league and country for the goalkeeper.

He has dual Germany and Nigeria nationality. Atubolu’s position is the central focus of the reported interest, with Napoli identified as the club linked to him and Freiburg as his current employer.

There has been no confirmed transfer, agreement or fee announced. Atubolu’s Freiburg contract remains valid through June 2027.
