Neo Maema returns to Simba SC on one-year loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns

Tanzanian giants Simba SC have secured the return of South African midfielder Neo Maema on a one-year loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the new season.

The 29-year-old midfielder will now reunite with the squad to continue the work he began during his initial spell at Simba SC, with the club hoping he can play a key role in their ambitions for domestic and continental success.

An agreement has been reached between the two clubs, with Simba SC head coach Barker keen to bring back the creative midfielder as he continues preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Maema previously spent time with the Msimbazi-based club, where he impressed with his technical ability, vision and attacking contribution.

His return is expected to strengthen Simba’s midfield options as the club aims to compete on multiple fronts.

Maema joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2022 after establishing himself as one of the promising midfielders in South African football.

However, increased competition for places at the Pretoria-based club opened the door for a loan move, allowing him to gain more regular playing time.

Simba SC believe his familiarity with the club’s environment and his previous experience in the team will help him make an immediate impact when the new season gets underway.
