AEK Larnaca target unattached Swedish-Tunisian midfielder Kerim Mrabti

Swedish-Tunisian attacking midfielder Kerim Mrabti, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to AEK Larnaca in the Cyprus League.

The 32-year-old became a free agent after leaving Belgian side KV Mechelen on 1 July 2026. He had spent almost six years with the club after joining from Birmingham in August 2020.

Mrabti made 151 appearances in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, scoring 31 goals and providing 20 assists. He also recorded four goals in 13 Croky Cup appearances during his time in Belgium.

The versatile midfielder began his senior career in Sweden with Enkopings SK before moving to Sirius in January 2013. He joined Djurgardens IF in 2015 and helped the Stockholm club win the Swedish Cup in 2018.

Mrabti moved to Birmingham on a free transfer in January 2019, making 27 Championship appearances and scoring three goals before departing England for Mechelen the following year. His spell at Birmingham also included appearances in the FA Cup.

He has a recorded market value of €1.2m and operates primarily in an attacking midfield role, favouring his right foot. A move to AEK Larnaca would represent his first transfer since leaving Mechelen, with the Cyprus club now linked with a player who is available after ending his previous spell in Belgium.
