Lilian Brassier attracts Bologna interest

Lilian Brassier could be on the move this summer, with Bologna now emerging as a serious contender for the Rennes defender.

The Serie A club are said to admire the 26-year-old’s profile and have already made contact with his camp as they look to strengthen their back line.

Brassier remains under contract with Rennes until June 2029, which gives the French club a strong negotiating position. Even so, a transfer is still possible if Bologna decide to formalize their interest with an offer Rennes consider convincing. The defender is currently valued at around 12 million euros, a fee that is within reach for several European clubs.

The Frenchman enjoyed a solid season in Brittany, making 30 appearances in all competitions and adding one assist. His consistency and defensive reliability have caught the eye in Italy, where Bologna believe he has the physical and tactical qualities needed for Serie A.

No official bid has been submitted yet, but the situation could develop quickly as the market moves on. Rennes are not under pressure to sell, yet they may listen if the numbers and the timing are right.
