TS Galaxy remain under FIFA registration ban after new signings miss PSL opener

TS Galaxy have been prevented from registering their new players for at least another week after FIFA kept the Betway Premiership club on its active ban list.

The restriction meant the new arrivals were unavailable for Sunday’s opening match, a 2-2 draw away at Siwelele. The players had all been announced by the club during pre-season but could not be selected because their registrations had not been completed.

Sifiso Ngobeni, Zuko Gxabusa, Edson Khumalo, Camagu Mdevulana, Mpho Maoke, Anslin William, Simthandile Sishi, Bongani van den Heede, Lennol Mathebula, Azola Jakalashe, Thabelo Tshikweta, Katekane Mhlongo, Nhlakanipho Ngwenya and Siphesihle Tati were all ineligible to play.

As a result, coach Bernard Parker began the season without any of the club’s new signings available to him.

The situation is similar to the one Adnan Beganovic faced at the start of last season. At that time, Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Anslin William, Matome Mmolai, Mzwandile Dlamini, Siyabonga Nguessan, Onke Moletshe, Sedwyn George and Veluyeke Zulu were unable to play at the beginning of the campaign.

Galaxy’s difficulties in registering their players were followed by a disappointing league season, with the club eventually finishing 12th.

The latest FIFA registration-ban list confirms that TS Galaxy remain unable to complete the registration of new players. Although the footballers have signed for the club, they cannot be formally registered while the ban remains active.

The current sanction began on 27 February 2026 and will remain in place until FIFA lifts it. The latest update means the club’s registration problems will continue for at least another week.

Club owner Tim Sukazi has previously indicated that the issue is connected to administrative matters involving the FIFA Clearing House.

The restriction adds to the early pressure on Galaxy as they attempt to avoid a repeat of last season’s poor campaign. Parker was forced to rely on the squad that was already registered for the match against Siwelele, despite the club having strengthened extensively during the close season.

The ban comes amid wider attention on the club, including reports of friction between Da Cruz and Nabi, while the PSL’s 30th-anniversary coverage has also revisited the dream achieved by a former Orlando Pirates captain.
