Ahmed Abdullahi: Eyupspor complete move for Nigeria striker from Sunderland

Nigeria centre-forward Ahmed Abdullahi has swapped Sunderland for Eyupspor, completing his move to the Turkish Super Lig club.

The 22-year-old joined Eyupspor on 4 August 2026 after leaving Sunderland, who play in the Premier League. The transfer takes Abdullahi from England’s top flight to Turkey’s leading division, with the Nigerian now registered as an Eyupspor player.

Abdullahi was born on 19 June 2004 in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He operates primarily as a centre-forward, giving Eyupspor a player whose listed role is centred on leading the attack.

His move brings an end to his time with Sunderland and begins a new chapter in Turkey. The clubs occupy different positions within their domestic football structures, with Sunderland competing in the Premier League and Eyupspor in the Super Lig.

The transfer was completed on 4 August, the same date on which Abdullahi joined his new club. No contract expiry date has been published for the Nigerian forward.

Abdullahi’s nationality and position distinguish him within Eyupspor’s squad as the club adds a Nigeria international-level attacking profile to its Super Lig group. He will now continue his career in Turkish football after his spell with Sunderland.
