Bold promise: Yasser Chelfaoui says CR Belouizdad will fight to win every trophy
Defender outlines the club’s ambitions and praises coach Nabil Maâloul’s demanding approach
CR Belouizdad defender Chelfaoui has declared that the club will enter the new season with the objective of competing for every available trophy, insisting that winning titles is the standard expected at one of Algeria’s biggest clubs.
Speaking through the club’s official media channels, the left-back reflected on his arrival at CR Belouizdad, his integration into the squad and the work completed during pre-season.
He also spoke about the influence of head coach Nabil Maâloul, describing him as a demanding manager who has already left a strong impression on the players.
The defender believes the team has laid solid foundations during two intensive training camps and is now focused on preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.
A move that was difficult to refuse
Chelfaoui explained that joining CR Belouizdad was an opportunity he could not ignore.
Reflecting on his transfer, he said the club’s stature made the decision straightforward, while the warm reception from his new teammates helped him settle quickly.
He said: “When a club like CRB comes looking for you, it’s difficult to refuse and say no. The initial contact went well for me, and I was quickly welcomed by the players, most of whom I already knew. Things are going very well for me now.”
The defender’s comments underline the confidence he has developed since arriving at the club, with familiar faces in the dressing room making the transition easier as preparations for the season gathered pace.
Since joining the squad, Chelfaoui has been involved in the club’s full pre-season programme and has already experienced the work being carried out by the coaching staff.
Pre-season preparations continue
CR Belouizdad have already completed two separate training camps as part of their preparations for the new campaign.
The first took place in Tlemcen before the squad travelled to Tabarka for the second stage of pre-season.
According to Chelfaoui, both camps have provided valuable opportunities for the players to improve their physical condition while developing as a collective unit.
Discussing the work completed so far, he said: “We’ve had two training camps, the first in Tlemcen and the second here in Tabarka. We’re working hard for the rest of the season.”
The defender believes those sessions will help prepare the squad for the demands of a long and competitive campaign.
Winning remains the objective
Chelfaoui made it clear that expectations at CR Belouizdad extend beyond simply competing.
He stressed that the club’s tradition requires the team to challenge for every competition it enters.
He said: “At a club like CRB, you always have to be a top contender and try to win every title. So, we’re going to do everything we can to try and win titles during the new season.”
Those comments reflect the ambition that surrounds the club ahead of the new campaign.
Rather than focusing on a single objective, the players are approaching the season determined to compete on every front.
The defender’s remarks also illustrate the mindset being developed within the squad during pre-season as the players prepare for official competition.
Praise for Nabil Maâloul
Chelfaoui also spoke positively about head coach Nabil Maâloul and the standards he has introduced.
The left-back described the coach as disciplined and demanding, adding that the players have responded well to the workload throughout pre-season.
He said: “He’s a strict coach who knows exactly what he wants. He pushes us in training, and I think we’ve done everything necessary to meet the workload. We hope things will go well for us and that we can achieve great things.”
His comments suggest the squad has embraced the coach’s methods and understands the level of commitment required to compete for honours.
With two training camps completed and preparations continuing, Chelfaoui believes CR Belouizdad are moving in the right direction.
The club’s immediate focus remains on completing pre-season, but the defender has already made the team’s ambitions clear: to compete for every title available during the upcoming campaign.
