Algerian striker Mohamed Amine Gherbi strengthens USM Alger attack

Mohamed Amine Gherbi has joined USM Alger from fellow Algerian club Olympique Akbou, giving the Ligue 1 side a new centre-forward for the 2026-27 campaign.

The 22-year-old Algerian made the move on 3 August and remains in Ligue 1 after switching between two clubs from the same division. Gherbi arrives at USM Alger as a centre-forward, the position in which he is listed, and becomes part of the club’s attacking options following his spell with Olympique Akbou.

The transfer is a domestic move within Algerian football, with Gherbi leaving Olympique Akbou for USM Alger. Both clubs are recorded as Ligue 1 teams, meaning the striker will not need to adapt to a new country or league as he begins the next stage of his career.
