Sharjah complete signing of Ismaily left-back Abdel Karim Mostafa
Sharjah have announced the signing of Ismaily defender Abdel Karim Mostafa, with the 23-year-old left-back moving to the UAE after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.
Mostafa travelled to the UAE alongside his agent Maher Nofal, who completed the transfer negotiations with Sharjah in co-operation with players’ agent Samer Salama.
The deal had initially been reported as an agreement in principle between Sharjah and Ismaily worth $750,000, with Ismaily also entitled to 20% of any future resale fee for the player.
Mostafa will contribute $100,000 towards the overall value of the transfer. That amount will be deducted from his salary over the course of two seasons.
The defender has also waived the remainder of the money owed to him by Ismaily as part of the move.
Mostafa joined Ismaily from Misr Lel Makkasa in January 2024 and established himself as a regular option at left-back. He made 35 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Of those matches, 28 came in the league, while he played six times in the League Cup and once in the Egypt Cup.
He scored five goals during his time with Ismaily, including three in the league and two in the League Cup.
His departure comes after a difficult season for Ismaily. The club finished bottom of the league in the 2025-26 campaign and were relegated to the Professional League.
Sharjah’s announcement confirms the completion of the transfer and gives Mostafa the opportunity to continue his career in the UAE after two-and-a-half years with Ismaily.
The agreement was finalised on Monday, 3 August 2026.
