Zamalek agree mutual contract termination with Kenya’s Baron Ochieng

Zamalek have agreed to terminate the contract of Kenyan player Baron Ochieng by mutual consent, bringing his time at the Egyptian club to an end.

The agreement was reached between Zamalek and the 20-year-old, who will now leave the Cairo-based club. The decision means Ochieng departs without making a significant impact on the first team since joining in January.

Ochieng made only limited appearances for Zamalek after arriving at the club earlier this year. His playing time came in the Egypt Capital Cup, also known as the League Cup, where he featured for just a few minutes.

The Kenyan was registered by Zamalek as an under-age foreign player. Despite being included in the club’s squad, he did not establish himself as a regular member of the first-team setup before the two sides agreed to end his contract.

Zamalek’s decision comes as the club begins preparations for the new season under head coach Moatamed Gamal. The team’s pre-season camp is being held in the New Administrative Capital.

Ochieng joined Zamalek in January but was unable to secure regular involvement during the remainder of the campaign. His limited participation in the Egypt Capital Cup represented the extent of his first-team opportunities, before the club and player reached an agreement over his departure.

The termination was completed amicably, with both parties agreeing to end the contract rather than continue the arrangement into the new season.

Zamalek have now started their preparations at the New Administrative Capital under Gamal, while Ochieng leaves the club after a short spell in Egypt.
