Ismaily resolve Jean Morel dispute but still face three FIFA cases

Ismaily have settled their dispute with Ivorian player Jean Morel, bringing an end to the biggest case currently facing the club, but three other cases remain before FIFA.

The Egyptian club reached an agreement with Morel by mutual consent, allowing the long-running matter to be resolved. Ismaily announced the settlement on Monday, 3 August 2026, as they continue efforts to address the international cases that have affected their ability to strengthen the squad.

Despite the agreement with Morel, Ismaily still have three cases outstanding at FIFA. Those disputes mean the club’s wider registration crisis is not yet over, with the remaining matters continuing to stand in the way of resolving the ban on registering new players.

Ismaily have been unable to make any signings during the past two seasons because of a registration suspension imposed as a result of the cases brought against them. The restriction has prevented the club from adding new players while it deals with the legal and financial consequences of the disputes.

In an attempt to raise the money needed to settle the cases, Ismaily launched a fundraising campaign calling on supporters and others to donate funds to the club. The campaign is intended to help the club clear its international disputes and resolve the registration crisis.

The latest settlement with Morel removes one of the most significant problems on Ismaily’s current list, but the club must still address the other three cases before its registration ban can be resolved.

The financial and administrative difficulties come after a disappointing season on the pitch. Ismaily were relegated to the Professional League for the first time in 62 years after finishing bottom of the league table.

They collected 20 points from 33 matches in the season that has just ended, a total that left them at the foot of the standings and confirmed their relegation.

The club’s efforts to settle the cases therefore come as Ismaily prepare for life in the Professional League while also attempting to overcome the registration restrictions that have limited their squad-building activity for the past two seasons. The agreement with Jean Morel provides some relief, but three FIFA cases are still unresolved.
