Hapoel Tel Aviv eye Douglas Owusu after Red Star title-winning season

Ghanaian-Serbian winger Douglas Owusu has been linked with a move from Red Star to Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Owusu, 20, joined Red Star from Serbian Second League side Radnik Surdulica in January 2026 for a reported €2.2m fee. He was part of the Red Star squad that won the Serbian league and cup during the 2025-26 season.

The right winger has yet to make an appearance for Red Star in the 2026-27 campaign, with the club having played three possible league matches and two Champions League qualifying fixtures. He has not started or featured in either competition so far this season.

Owusu’s current contract with the Serbian champions runs until 31 December 2028. His market value is listed at €4.5m, more than double the figure attached to him when he moved from Radnik.

The player was born in Cape Coast and holds Ghanaian and Serbian nationality. He began his senior career with Asekem FC before moving to Radnik in August 2024, helping the club win the Serbian Second League in the 2024-25 season.

A transfer to Hapoel Tel Aviv would take Owusu to Israel’s top flight, with the club competing in the Ligat ha’Al. The reported interest comes only months after his move to Red Star, where he remains under contract through the end of 2028.
