Aris Saloniki sign Senegal striker Tafsir Diop on free transfer
Senegalese striker Tafsir Diop has joined Aris Saloniki from Esp. Guediawaye on a free transfer, becoming an Aris player at the age of 18.
Diop completed the move on 3 August 2026 and has agreed a contract with the Greek club running until 30 June 2031. He arrives as a centre-forward, adding a young attacking option to the Aris squad for the 2026-27 season.
Born in Dakar on 18 January 2008, Diop has spent the latest stage of his career with Esp. Guediawaye before switching from Senegal to Greece. His departure from the Senegalese club marks his first recorded move outside his home country.
Aris Saloniki compete in Super League 1, Greece’s top division, and the transfer gives Diop the opportunity to continue his career in a different footballing environment. The move also places the teenager under a contract that extends across the next five seasons, with his agreement due to expire in the summer of 2031.
Diop’s position is listed as striker, giving Aris a player whose primary role is to lead the attack. At 18, he is among the younger additions to the club’s squad, while his Senegalese nationality links the signing to the country’s developing football system.
The transfer was completed without a fee after Diop left Esp. Guediawaye. Aris Saloniki have secured his services ahead of the new campaign, with the club confirming the change of registration on the opening days of August.
For Esp. Guediawaye, the move brings Diop’s time with the club to an end. For Aris, it represents the arrival of a Dakar-born forward on a long-term agreement, with the striker now contracted through June 2031.
Diop’s completed free transfer from Esp. Guediawaye to Aris Saloniki took effect on 3 August 2026.
