Al Sharqiya ENPPI choose Al Salam Stadium as temporary home

Al Sharqiya ENPPI have asked the Egyptian Clubs Association to approve a change of home ground for next season, with Al Salam Stadium set to host the team until the new venue at Zagazig University is ready.

The request follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between ENPPI and Al Sharqiya to merge the two clubs and compete as one team from the start of the new season.

ENPPI chairman Ayman El-Sharعي has contacted the Egyptian Clubs Association, led by Ahmed Diab, to request that the team’s registered home stadium be changed from Petro Sport.

The club has agreed that Zagazig University Stadium will become Al Sharqiya ENPPI’s main ground once construction and preparation work has been completed and the necessary approvals have been obtained from the relevant authorities.

Until those works are finished, however, the team will play its home matches at Al Salam Stadium. The temporary arrangement is intended to allow supporters to attend the club’s fixtures.

Al Sharqiya ENPPI have also informed the Egyptian Clubs Association that Arab Contractors Stadium will be used as their alternative venue.

The merger is part of a wider restructuring of Egyptian football announced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The ministry confirmed that Al Sharqiya and ENPPI would combine to establish a football company, while Montakhab El-Swes and Petrojet would also merge to create another football company.

Both Al Sharqiya ENPPI and Montakhab El-Swes Petrojet will take part in the Egyptian Premier League next season following the completion of the mergers.

The draw for the Egyptian Premier League will take place on Wednesday, 5 August, at 15:00 local time. The draw will determine the fixtures for the first season in which the two newly merged teams compete under their new structures.

The stadium arrangements remain subject to the completion of the work at Zagazig University Stadium and approval from the relevant authorities. Once those conditions are met, it will become the permanent home venue selected for Al Sharqiya ENPPI.

The club’s immediate priority is therefore to secure a suitable stadium for the beginning of the campaign while preparations at its intended main ground continue. Al Salam Stadium has been chosen for that interim period, with Arab Contractors Stadium available as a back-up option.
