Trabzonspor emerge as frontrunners for Mohamed Salah as Besiktas withdraw from race

Trabzonspor have emerged as the leading contender to secure the services of Egypt star and former Liverpool winger, Mohammed Salah.

Negotiations surrounding Salah’s next destination have intensified, with the Turkish club reportedly making significant progress in talks with the player’s representative, Ramy Abbas.

According to reports, Trabzonspor have reached an agreement with Abbas over the framework of a potential deal and have presented Salah with a two-year contract proposal worth up to €17 million per season.

The Turkish side’s approach comes as Salah appears to be moving further away from a possible transfer to Besiktas, who were previously considered one of the strongest candidates to sign the Egyptian international.

As per reports in Turkey, Besiktas have now completely withdrawn from the race for Salah’s signature, while wishing the 34-year-old forward success at his next club, whether it is Trabzonspor, Galatasaray or Fenerbahce.

Besiktas had held talks with Salah for several weeks and were initially leading the competition for his signature. However, negotiations reportedly stalled due to disagreements over the commission demanded by his agent Ramy Abbas.

With Besiktas stepping aside, Trabzonspor have gained momentum in their pursuit of one of Africa’s greatest footballers, although Salah’s final decision is still awaited as the transfer saga approaches its conclusion.
