Kennedy Boateng linked with Univ. Craiova after FC Dinamo exit
Togo and Ghana defender Kennedy Boateng, currently without a club after leaving FC Dinamo, is being linked with a move to Romanian SuperLiga side Univ. Craiova.
The 29-year-old centre-back departed Dinamo on 1 July 2026, having joined the Romanian club from Austria Lustenau in July 2024. He is valued at €1.2m and could now remain in Romania if the reported interest from Craiova develops into an agreement.
Boateng made 53 SuperLiga appearances during his career, scoring six goals and providing one assist. He also has experience in Portugal’s top flight, where he recorded 52 Liga Portugal appearances, and in Germany’s Bundesliga, with 41 appearances.
Born in Tamale, Boateng began his senior career with Ghanaian club WAFA SC before moving to Austria with LASK in 2016. He won the Austrian Second League twice, with LASK in 2017 and SV Ried in 2020.
His most recent transfer was a move to Dinamo from Austria Lustenau in 2024, listed as a free transfer. After two years with the Romanian side, Boateng is now unattached and has been linked with a switch to another SuperLiga club.
