Ibrahim Mendes: Swiss-Angolan winger linked with FC Zurich move from Lausanne II

Swiss-Angolan winger Ibrahim Mendes is being linked with a move from Lausanne II to FC Zurich, with the 20-year-old currently playing in Switzerland’s 1. Liga, group 1.

Mendes has made two appearances in the Super League this season, starting both matches and scoring once. He has played 69% of the available minutes and contributed to half of Lausanne’s goals in those games.

The right winger is under contract with Lausanne II until 30 June 2027. His current market value is listed at €200,000, while FC Zurich compete in the Super League.

Mendes returned to Lausanne II at the end of June after completing a loan spell at Stade Nyonnais. He joined Stade Nyonnais on loan in January 2026 and spent the second half of the 2025-26 season there before returning to his parent club.

Born in Lausanne on 22 November 2005, Mendes is eligible to represent both Switzerland and Angola. He joined Lausanne II in July 2024 after leaving StadeLO III.

A move to FC Zurich would represent a switch from Lausanne’s second team in the fourth tier to an established Super League club, but the rumour remains unconfirmed. Mendes’s current deal with Lausanne II runs for a further season beyond the present campaign.
