Romelu Lukaku: Napoli striker linked with move to Atlanta in MLS
Belgian centre-forward Romelu Lukaku, 33, is being linked with a move from Napoli to Atlanta in Major League Soccer.
Lukaku is under contract with Napoli until 30 June 2027, having joined the Italian club from Chelsea in August 2024 for €30.7m. His current market value is listed at €6m.
The striker has made six appearances for Belgium at the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals and providing one assist. He was also part of Napoli’s Serie A title-winning squad in the 2024-25 season.
Lukaku has scored 85 goals in 170 Serie A appearances across his career, along with 121 goals in 278 Premier League matches. His record in Italy includes a league title with Inter in 2020-21, before returning to Chelsea and later moving through loan spells at Inter and Roma.
The reported interest from Atlanta comes with Lukaku still tied to Napoli for another season beyond the current campaign. No transfer has been confirmed, and the available details do not indicate whether negotiations have taken place.
Lukaku’s future therefore remains unresolved, with the experienced forward continuing to be contracted to Napoli until June 2027.
