Egypt FA expresses confidence in Gianni Infantino following FIFA Forward Enterprise withdrawal

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has welcomed FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative following extensive feedback from FIFA Member Associations.

In a statement released on Saturday, the EFA, led by President Hany Abo Rida, praised Infantino for what it described as a demonstration of “true leadership” by listening to the concerns and observations raised by football associations across the world before making a final decision.

According to the EFA, the withdrawal of the proposal reflects FIFA’s commitment to consultation, dialogue and unity within the global football community.

The association noted that the move serves the best interests of international football while respecting the diverse perspectives of its member associations.

The Egyptian federation stated that the decision reinforces the importance of communication and collaboration between FIFA and its members, adding that such an approach strengthens the unity of the international football family.

Looking ahead, the EFA expressed optimism that FIFA and its Member Associations will continue working together to identify the most effective ways of achieving their shared objectives for the development of the game.

The federation also reaffirmed its confidence in Infantino’s leadership, stressing its continued support for initiatives that promote the growth of football and deliver meaningful benefits to FIFA’s 211 Member Associations.

The FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal had been circulated to member associations as part of a consultation process aimed at exploring new approaches to football development and investment.

However, the initiative sparked significant debate among national associations, prompting FIFA to gather feedback before reaching a final decision.

With the proposal now withdrawn, attention is expected to shift towards renewed discussions between FIFA and its members on alternative strategies that can advance football development while maintaining broad consensus across the global football community.

The EFA believes that continued cooperation and open dialogue will be key to shaping future initiatives that serve the long-term interests of world football.
