Ichem Ferrah Begins New Chapter With Pisa

French-Algerian winger Ichem Ferrah is set to continue his career in Italy after completing the formalities for a permanent move from Lille to Pisa.

The 20-year-old has already travelled to Italy and undergone his medical examination, with an official announcement expected shortly as Pisa prepare to confirm the signing of one of the most promising young attackers to emerge from the Dutch second division last season.

The transfer follows an outstanding loan spell at SC Cambuur, where Ferrah established himself as one of the standout performers in the Eerste Divisie.

Pisa, who were relegated to Serie B at the end of last season, have moved decisively to strengthen their attacking options as they target an immediate return to Italy’s top flight.

The deal is expected to earn Lille €2.5 million, while Ferrah is set to sign a contract that will keep him at the Italian club until June 2030.

The move brings an end to the winger’s long association with Lille.

Ferrah joined the club’s academy at Domaine de Luchin in 2018 and progressed through the youth ranks before making two senior appearances under Paulo Fonseca during the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite those opportunities, he was unable to establish himself as a regular member of the first-team squad and instead continued his development with the reserve side.

His career took a significant step forward during his loan spell in the Netherlands.

Representing Cambuur in the Eerste Divisie, Ferrah enjoyed a remarkable campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 35 appearances.

His performances earned him the league’s Talent of the Season award and attracted attention from several clubs across Europe, including Utrecht and Cremonese.

Pisa ultimately won the race for his signature after deciding to invest in a player regarded as one of the brightest young attacking prospects available during the transfer window.

The move also offers Ferrah an opportunity to test himself in Italian football after beginning his development in France and making his breakthrough in the Netherlands.

The next stage of his career will now unfold in Serie B, where Pisa hope his creativity and attacking quality can play an important role in the club’s ambitions.

For the young winger, the transfer represents another significant milestone as he looks to continue his progress and fulfil the potential he displayed during his impressive season with Cambuur.
