Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs face top-flight newcomers in weekend fixtures

Langelihle Phili has been left out of Stellenbosch FC’s matchday squad for their Premiership meeting with AmaZulu FC, while Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs prepare to face top-flight debutants in Saturday’s fixtures.

Stellenbosch FC host AmaZulu FC at 15:30, with Phili not included in the squad for the match. The confirmed Stellenbosch starting XI features Stephens, Lebusa, Nhlabathi, Vena, Lebitso, Palace, Mthethwa, Butsaka, Mbembe, Daniels and Kwayiba.

AmaZulu’s starting XI had not been announced at the time of publication.

Orlando Pirates are also in action at 15:30, when they face Milford FC. The Pirates line-up has been confirmed as Chaine, Sibisi, Seema, Sebelebele, Hotto, Dansin, Mbatha, Maswanganyi, Moremi, Appollis and Mbuthuma.

Milford FC’s starting XI remained to be confirmed.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ opening match against Marumo Gallants was postponed earlier in the week. Sundowns, known as the Brazilians, only completed their pre-season campaign in Austria on Friday.

The postponement means Sundowns are not involved in the weekend’s listed Premiership fixtures, with the schedule instead featuring seven matches across Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s action begins with the two 15:30 kick-offs involving Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC. Golden Arrows meet Chippa United at the same time, while Sekhukhune United play Durban City at 18:00.

Kaizer Chiefs complete the day’s programme when they take on Kruger United at 20:15.

The weekend concludes on Sunday with Richards Bay against Polokwane City at 15:30, followed by Siwelele FC’s meeting with TS Galaxy at 18:00.
