Kruger United secure two-year deal for promotion hero Khethukuthula Ndlovu

Kruger United midfielder Khethukuthula Ndlovu has signed a new two-year contract with the Premiership newcomers after helping the Village Boys win automatic promotion to South Africa’s top flight.

The 31-year-old played an important part in Kruger United’s successful 2025/26 campaign, scoring 11 goals as the club earned its place in the Premiership. His new agreement has been confirmed by his representatives, P Management.

“He has signed for two years,” confirmed P Management to this publication.

Ndlovu’s renewal gives Kruger United continuity in midfield as they prepare for their first season following promotion. The club will begin its Premiership campaign against Kaizer Chiefs at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday evening, 1 August.

The midfielder’s contribution during the promotion campaign was also recognised through his nomination for the Motsepe Foundation Championship Players’ Player of the Season award.

Ndlovu was shortlisted alongside Ronaldo van Neel of Hungry Lions and Emile Witbooi of Cape Town City. Witbooi ultimately won the award, but the nomination reflected Ndlovu’s influence during Kruger United’s push for automatic promotion.

His 11 goals made him one of the key contributors to the Village Boys’ campaign, and the new contract ensures he will remain with the team as they move into the Premiership.

Kruger United now face an immediate test against Kaizer Chiefs in their opening fixture. The meeting at Mbombela Stadium will mark the start of the club’s top-flight campaign and comes after Ndlovu and his team-mates secured promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Ndlovu’s new deal was confirmed as Kruger United prepare to take on one of South Africa’s most established clubs. The two-year agreement keeps the midfielder at the club beyond the opening Premiership season and maintains the link between the player who helped deliver promotion and the side now preparing for a higher level of competition.

The contract announcement follows a campaign in which Ndlovu was not only a regular contributor but also a significant source of goals. His 11-goal return helped Kruger United achieve automatic promotion, while his performances earned him recognition among the division’s leading players.

The season opener against Kaizer Chiefs will therefore provide the first competitive opportunity for Kruger United to build on that promotion success. It will also give Ndlovu the chance to begin his new two-year spell with the club in the Premiership, with the fixture scheduled for Saturday evening, 1 August, at Mbombela Stadium.
