AC Milan target Algeria’s Ibrahim Maza in search for attacking reinforcements

AC Milan have identified Algerian international Ibrahim Maza as a potential addition to their attack as the Italian giants consider changes to their squad ahead of the new season.

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have already made contact with representatives of the Bayer Leverkusen playmaker, who is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in European football.

Although Rafael Leão is expected to remain at the club, Milan are exploring options to strengthen their attacking department, with player sales likely to fund the arrival of a new creative midfielder.

Maza seen as ideal candidate

The Serie A side have reportedly been monitoring Maza since his time at German club Hertha Berlin and believe the 20-year-old has the qualities required to operate as a traditional number 10.

Milan’s coaching staff, led by Rúben Amorim and assistant Ben Gardiner, are said to be particularly impressed by the Algerian’s technical ability, close control and tactical awareness.

The youngster’s performances in tight spaces and his vision in possession have reportedly made him one of the club’s priority targets.

The report claims that Milan managing director Hendrik Almstadt has already opened discussions with Bayer Leverkusen to assess the Bundesliga club’s willingness to sell the player.

Any deal, however, is expected to be expensive, with Maza’s valuation believed to be around €40 million.
