Grindavik sign Spain and Guinea midfielder Ibra Camara on free transfer

Spain and Guinea midfielder Ibra Camara has joined Grindavik from UD Barbastro on a free transfer, completing his move to the Icelandic club on 31 July 2026.

The 31-year-old central midfielder arrives from Barbastro, who compete in Spain’s Segunda Federacion – Grupo II, and moves into Iceland’s Lengjudeild with Grindavik. No transfer fee has been paid for the switch.

Camara was born in Conakry and holds Spanish and Guinean nationality. He has played much of his recent football in Spain and Iceland, making the move to Grindavik a return to a country where he previously represented Njardvik.

He joined Njardvik from Spanish side CD Ebro in July 2023. That followed spells with Bouzas and CD Teruel, while his earlier clubs also included AD Sabinanigo and Andorra CF. Camara moved to UD Barbastro in July 2025 as a free agent before leaving the club after one season.

His latest move brings together his experience in both the Spanish and Icelandic football systems. Grindavik have secured a player whose listed position is central midfield, with the move adding another experienced option to their squad for the new campaign.

Camara’s previous reported market value was €25,000, while his highest recorded value was €50,000. He has now completed his free transfer from UD Barbastro to Grindavik.
