Ivorian midfielder Jean Charles Ahoua joins Jordanian giants Al-Faisaly after CR Belouizdad exit
Ivorian midfielder Jean Charles Ahoua has officially begun a new chapter in his professional career after signing for Jordanian club Al-Faisaly SC on a two-year contract following his departure from Algerian side CR Belouizdad.
The 24-year-old completed the move as a free agent after recently reaching a mutual agreement with CR Belouizdad to terminate his contract, bringing an end to his spell in Algeria. Rather than spending an extended period without a club, Ahoua quickly secured a new destination and will now continue his career in the Jordanian Pro League, one of the most competitive football competitions in the Middle East.
Al-Faisaly confirmed the signing of the Ivorian midfielder as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming season. Under the terms of the agreement, Ahoua will remain with the Jordanian giants until 2028, giving him the opportunity to establish himself as a key figure in the team’s midfield for the next two campaigns.
The transfer represents another important step in the player’s increasingly international career. Despite still being only 24 years old, Ahoua has already accumulated valuable experience across several African leagues and has built a reputation as a technically gifted and energetic midfielder capable of influencing games in both defensive and attacking phases.
His arrival is expected to provide Al-Faisaly with additional creativity, ball-winning ability and composure in midfield as the club looks to challenge for major honours domestically and improve its competitiveness on the regional stage.
Ahoua’s departure from CR Belouizdad came after a relatively short spell with the Algerian outfit. Although the midfielder arrived with high expectations, both parties ultimately agreed that a separation would be the best solution, allowing the player to seek a new challenge while enabling the club to reshape its squad ahead of the new campaign.
The move to Jordan marks the third foreign league of Ahoua’s professional career outside his native Ivory Coast. The midfielder first gained significant international recognition during his time with Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC, where he showcased his ability in one of East Africa’s strongest leagues and participated in continental competitions.
His performances in Tanzania helped raise his profile and paved the way for a move to North Africa, where he joined CR Belouizdad in the Algerian Ligue 1. Competing in Algeria provided another valuable learning experience, exposing him to a different football culture and a highly competitive environment.
Now, with Al-Faisaly, Ahoua will have the opportunity to test himself in yet another footballing landscape. Jordan’s top division has become increasingly attractive to players from across Africa and the Arab world, with clubs investing heavily in talent to improve the quality of the league and strengthen their continental ambitions.
For Al-Faisaly, securing the services of a player with experience in multiple leagues and continental competitions is viewed as a significant boost. The club’s management believes Ahoua’s versatility and maturity will make him an important addition to the squad as they prepare for a demanding season.
The Ivorian midfielder is expected to join his new teammates immediately and begin preparations for the upcoming campaign. Supporters will be eager to see how quickly he adapts to his new surroundings and whether he can replicate the performances that made him one of the promising midfielders to emerge from Ivory Coast in recent years.
As he embarks on this new adventure, Ahoua will be aiming to make a strong impact in Jordan, help Al-Faisaly compete for trophies and continue the upward trajectory of a career that has already taken him across several of Africa’s most competitive football leagues.
