Mamadou Coulibaly: Senegal midfielder joins Foggia on free transfer from Sudtirol

Senegal midfielder Mamadou Coulibaly has joined Foggia on a free transfer from Sudtirol, signing a contract with the Serie C club until 30 June 2028. The 27-year-old central midfielder makes the move after one season in Bolzano, where he arrived in 2025, also as a free agent.

Coulibaly, born in Thies and standing at 1.87m, brings extensive experience from the Italian leagues to Foggia’s midfield. A right-footed central player, he has made 159 Serie B appearances with 12 goals and eight assists, as well as featuring 24 times in Serie A, scoring twice. He has also played in the Coppa Italia and at youth level in the Primavera competitions.

His switch to Foggia marks the latest step in a career spent almost entirely in Italy. After initially emerging at Pescara, Coulibaly earned a move to Udinese in 2017 and later played for Salernitana, including a permanent transfer worth €3m in 2022 following an earlier loan spell. Subsequent moves saw him represent Ternana, Palermo and Catanzaro before his most recent stint at Sudtirol in Serie B.

Coulibaly’s current market valuation stands at around €500,000, and he joins a Foggia side competing in Serie C Group C. The length of his new deal ties him to the Apulian club for the next two seasons as they look to strengthen their options in the centre of the pitch.

The move is a permanent free transfer, with Coulibaly now officially registered as a Foggia player until summer 2028.
