Kassim Shaibu: Tanzanian Striker Linked with TRA United Switch from Mtibwa Sugar

Tanzanian striker Kassim Shaibu of Mtibwa Sugar is being linked with a move to domestic rivals TRA United, with discussions over a potential deal understood to be at an exploratory stage.

Shaibu, who plays as a central attacker for the Tanzanian Premier League side, has emerged as a target for TRA United as they look to strengthen their options in the final third ahead of the new campaign. The interest is focused on adding a recognised striker from within the local game, with Shaibu’s profile fitting the requirements of the ambitious club.

While there is no indication that an agreement is imminent, the talks underline TRA United’s intent to recruit from within Tanzania rather than looking abroad. Mtibwa Sugar, meanwhile, face the prospect of losing an attacking player who has been part of their first-team set-up and is registered in an advanced role across the front line.

Shaibu is currently contracted to Mtibwa Sugar, and there is no public suggestion at this stage that he is close to forcing a move or that the club have formally accepted any approach. Any transfer would therefore require Mtibwa’s approval, with TRA United needing to satisfy the club’s stance before progressing the deal.

For now, Shaibu remains a Mtibwa Sugar player, with his contractual situation placing the Tanzanian side in a strong position as they assess TRA United’s interest in their striker.
