Jean-Matteo Bahoya: Frankfurt winger linked with Al-Ahli move amid Saudi Pro League interest

France-Cameroon winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya of Eintracht Frankfurt is attracting interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli in a move that currently carries an estimated 27% chance of happening.

The 21-year-old, who plays primarily as a left winger, is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2029 but has emerged as a potential target as Al-Ahli continue to monitor attacking options in Europe. Bahoya’s current market valuation stands at around €25m, a figure likely to frame any negotiations should Frankfurt be tempted to enter formal talks.

Bahoya joined Frankfurt from Angers in January 2024 for €8m and has since built up Bundesliga experience, making 59 league appearances and contributing five goals and seven assists. He has also gained exposure in European competition, featuring for the German side in both the Europa League and Champions League.

Born in Montfermeil in May 2005 and standing at 1.80m, Bahoya is a right-footed wide player who has represented clubs in France’s lower divisions and Ligue 2 before his move to Germany. His form at Angers, where he scored five goals and provided two assists in 19 Ligue 2 outings, helped accelerate his move to Frankfurt.

With four years remaining on his deal, Frankfurt are under no pressure to sell, and any departure would require Al-Ahli to make a substantial offer. For now, Bahoya remains tied to the Bundesliga side on a long-term contract running through the summer of 2029.
