Raja step up preparations for CAF campaign with fresh faces in camp

Raja Casablanca have begun preparations for the new season, with new signing Shamseddine Kandil taking part in the club’s first training session following the summer break.

The Moroccan giants resumed training on Wednesday at their Bouskoura training complex as players returned from the annual holiday ahead of another demanding campaign.

Kandil, who joined Raja during the current transfer window, was among the players involved as coach Nasreddine Nabi oversaw the team’s opening session.

Raja strengthen squad ahead of new campaign

The left-back completed his move from Meknes after Raja activated his release clause, becoming one of the club’s first major additions of the summer.

The Casablanca side have also signed Ishaq Al-Zabdani from Renaissance Zemamra as they continue to strengthen their squad before the start of the new season.

Club officials are expected to remain active in the transfer market as Raja prepare for domestic and continental competition.

Training camp and friendlies planned

Raja are expected to hold a pre-season training camp in the coming weeks, with several friendly matches planned to help the players regain match fitness.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi is set to increase the intensity and frequency of training sessions as he looks to improve the squad’s physical condition ahead of the competitive campaign.

The Tunisian tactician will be hoping to build a team capable of challenging for silverware both in Morocco and on the continent.

Confederation Cup challenge awaits

Raja will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next season after finishing third in the Botola Pro standings with 56 points.

The Green Eagles missed out on the league title, which was won by Maghreb Fez, but will now turn their attention to making an impact in Africa’s second-tier club competition.
