Paul Nsio: England-DR Congo midfielder joins St Mirren on season-long loan from Rangers B

St Mirren have added England-DR Congo midfielder Paul Nsio to their squad, signing the 20-year-old on a season-long loan from Rangers B. The central midfielder moves to the Premiership club for the 2026-27 campaign, with the deal running until 31 May 2027.

Nsio, a right-footed central midfielder, joins after a productive spell in the Scottish game. He spent last season on loan at Raith Rovers, where he made 24 Championship appearances and scored twice, as well as featuring regularly in the Challenge Cup and domestic cups. He also made his Premiership debut and gained minutes in European competition, including the Europa League.

His performances in the Challenge Cup were particularly notable, with 14 appearances, two goals and four assists as Raith lifted the trophy. That success delivered the first major honour of his senior career, a Scottish Challenge Cup winners’ medal in the 2025-26 season.

Born in March 2006, Nsio qualifies for both England and DR Congo and has been developed in Scotland since joining Rangers’ youth set-up in 2022. He arrived at Rangers FC U18 from Lambeth Tigers on a free transfer before progressing to Rangers B in 2024 and then heading out on loan in search of regular first-team football.

With a current market value listed at €200,000, Nsio links up with St Mirren aiming to build on his early senior experience, while Rangers retain his registration beyond the end of the loan.
