Pirates hand Mpho Padime number 38 as champions confirm 2026-27 squad numbers
Orlando Pirates have confirmed their first-team shirt numbers for the 2026-27 campaign, with DStv Diski Challenge prospect Mpho Padime taking over the number 38 shirt previously worn by Relebohile Mofokeng.
The Betway Premiership title holders begin the defence of their crown at home on Saturday, 1 August, when they host top-flight newcomers Milford FC at Orlando Amstel Arena, and have now finalised the numbers their senior players will wear.
Padime’s elevation is one of several notable changes in the Buccaneers squad, as a number of established figures switch numbers from last season.
Lebone Seema, the reigning Premiership Defender of the Season, has moved into the number 6 shirt, having worn 33 during the previous campaign. The change underlines his status at the heart of the champions’ back line after an award-winning season.
In midfield, Mali international Abdoulaye Mariko has also opted for a new number. After wearing 32 in his debut season with Orlando Pirates, he will now turn out in the number 4 jersey as he looks to build on an encouraging first year at the club.
Boitumelo Radiopane has been rewarded following an impressive pre-season tour of Spain, during which he produced a series of eye-catching displays. The forward will wear number 25 in the new season, having previously been registered as number 42 for the last two campaigns.
The club has released a full list of squad numbers for the 2026-27 Betway Premiership season, confirming all allocations for the first-team group.
Orlando Pirates open their league schedule against Milford FC at Orlando Amstel Arena, where they will unveil their updated number range in front of their home support as they embark on another title defence.
