Ethan Nwaneri: Fulham eye move for Arsenal and England youth midfielder

Ethan Nwaneri, the England and Nigeria-eligible attacking midfielder currently at Arsenal, is being linked with a move across London to Fulham as the Premier League club explore options to strengthen their creative department.

The 19-year-old, who wears No 22 for Arsenal, is under contract at the Emirates until 30 June 2030, meaning any deal would require Fulham to negotiate a significant fee with their rivals. Nwaneri is currently valued at around €35m, underlining the scale of the investment that would be required to prise him away from north London.

Nwaneri broke into Arsenal’s first-team squad after progressing through their youth ranks and signing professional terms with the senior side in July 2024. He has since accumulated regular top-flight minutes, making 34 Premier League appearances and scoring four goals, form that has helped place him on the radar of other clubs within the division.

Arsenal sent Nwaneri on loan to Marseille in January 2026, with the spell ending in June when he returned to the Emirates. That temporary move was seen as an opportunity to accelerate his development with consistent senior football, including exposure to Ligue 1 and domestic cup competition in France.

Internationally, Nwaneri enhanced his reputation by helping England’s Under-21s win the European Under-21 Championship in 2025, adding further weight to his status as one of the most closely watched young midfielders of his age group.

For now, Nwaneri remains an Arsenal player with four years left on his deal, placing the club in a strong position should Fulham decide to test their resolve with a formal offer.
