Witcha: Cape Verde winger joins Al-Khaleej U21 from Uniao 1919

Cape Verde winger Witcha has joined Al-Khaleej U21 from Portuguese side Uniao 1919, with the 18-year-old left-footer moving into the Saudi club’s youth ranks ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The attacker, whose main position is on the left wing, links up with Al-Khaleej’s under-21 squad after a season with Uniao 1919, having switched to the Coimbra-based club in July 2025. His latest move was completed on 30 July 2026.

Witcha arrives at Al-Khaleej U21 as an age-group signing, with the club adding a wide player who is naturally left-footed and accustomed to operating high up the pitch. He will be registered with the under-21 set-up of Al-Khaleej FC, giving him a platform within the Saudi club’s structure.

Before his time in Portugal, Witcha came through at Batuque U19, moving from the Cape Verdean side to Uniao 1919 as a teenager. The transition from youth football in Cape Verde to a European environment marked his first step outside his home country, and his latest move continues his career away from domestic competition.

Born on 18 November 2007, Witcha is still eligible for youth football and is listed primarily as an attacking left winger. His transfer to Al-Khaleej U21 positions him within a development pathway that could lead towards senior football if he progresses within the club.

The deal sees Witcha leave Uniao 1919 after just over a year to become the newest member of Al-Khaleej’s under-21 squad.
