Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde has ended speculation over his future by making it clear he has no plans to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old full-back, who played a key role in Hansi Flick’s squad last season, insists his future remains at Camp Nou despite reports suggesting Barcelona could consider his sale to generate funds.

Balde enjoyed another important campaign with the Catalan giants, featuring 42 times across all competitions and contributing three assists as Flick’s side secured success in LaLiga.

“I am not leaving. Barca is my home,” he said.

“I’ve been in this club for 16 years, all my life. I want to succeed here, my mind is here. What I think about is continuing for many more years.”

Balde joined Barcelona’s academy as a teenager and progressed through the club’s youth system before breaking into the senior team. Since becoming a first-team regular, he has established himself as one of the most promising left-backs in European football.
