Kevin De Bruyne: Galatasaray eye shock move for Napoli and Belgium star

Galatasaray are weighing up a surprise move for Belgium playmaker Kevin De Bruyne from Napoli as the Turkish champions explore a marquee addition to their Super Lig squad. The 35-year-old attacking midfielder, who also holds Burundian nationality, is under contract in Serie A until 30 June 2027 but has emerged as a potential target in Istanbul, with the likelihood of any deal currently rated at 24%.

De Bruyne joined Napoli on a free transfer from Manchester City on 1 July 2025 and has since made his Serie A bow, registering five goals and two assists in 18 league appearances. His current market valuation stands at around €8 million, a figure that would make him a relatively affordable option for Galatasaray given his pedigree in European competition.

The move would represent the latest chapter in a decorated career that includes a UEFA Champions League title with Manchester City in 2022-23 and multiple English league crowns. De Bruyne built his reputation across spells in the Premier League and Bundesliga, amassing 288 Premier League appearances with 72 goals and 121 assists, alongside 85 Bundesliga outings with 23 goals and 36 assists, before heading to Italy.

At international level, he remains a central figure for Belgium and featured at the 2026 World Cup, starting the majority of his side’s matches and scoring once in five appearances. For now, De Bruyne remains tied to Napoli for a further season beyond this one, leaving Galatasaray needing to negotiate with the Italian club if they decide to turn their interest into a formal bid.
