Chandrel Massanga: Congo midfielder linked with Eyupspor stay amid transfer uncertainty

Congo midfielder Chandrel Massanga is being linked with remaining at Eyupspor despite speculation over his future following a recent move within Turkish football’s top flight. The 26-year-old defensive midfielder, currently valued at around €500,000, is understood to be of continued interest to the Istanbul-based Super Lig side as they assess their squad options for the new season.

Massanga only joined Eyupspor from Hatayspor on 29 July 2026, having established himself in Turkey after arriving from Albanian champions FK Partizani in August 2023. His swift return to the market has prompted questions over whether Eyupspor see him as a longer-term piece in midfield or as a player who could be moved on if a suitable offer arrives.

Since moving to Turkey, Massanga has accumulated over 50 Super Lig appearances and has also featured in domestic cup competition, underlining his experience at the highest level of the Turkish game. Before his switch to Hatayspor, he played a key role in Partizani’s 2022-23 Albanian title win, a season that significantly raised his profile in Europe.

Born in Pointe-Noire and standing at 1.72m, Massanga has built his reputation as a right-footed holding midfielder capable of operating in front of the back line. Previous spells in Congo with CS La Mancha, CARA and AS Otoho provided his first exposure to continental competition in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Eyupspor are yet to clarify publicly whether Massanga forms part of their long-term plans, but his recent arrival and current valuation suggest the club are in a strong position to determine the next step in his career.
