Oussama Hichri: Tunisia defender joins ES Metlaoui from AS Soliman

Tunisia centre-back Oussama Hichri has joined ES Metlaoui from AS Soliman, strengthening the Ligue 1 side’s defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

The 26-year-old has signed a contract with Metlaoui running until 30 June 2028, committing his peak years to the club. The move keeps Hichri in the Tunisian top flight, where he has built a reputation as a reliable central defender.

Hichri arrives after a consistent spell at AS Soliman, whom he joined in 2021 from Esperance Tunis’ U21 set-up. During his time there he became a regular in the senior side, gaining top-flight experience and establishing himself in Ligue 1.

Across domestic league and cup competitions, the defender has made more than 70 senior appearances, including 56 in Ligue 1. He has also featured in play-off and relegation rounds, as well as the Tunisian Cup, amassing over 5,000 minutes of first-team football. That level of exposure in high-pressure environments adds further value to Metlaoui’s back line.

Primarily a centre-back, Hichri’s arrival gives ES Metlaoui additional depth and continuity in a key area as they prepare for another season in Tunisia’s top division. His current market value stands at €225,000, reflecting his status as an established domestic performer rather than an emerging prospect.

Hichri’s transfer, completed on 29 July 2026, sees him become one of Metlaoui’s notable defensive additions on a deal that runs through to the summer of 2028.
