Ayoub Tlili: Tunisia defender returns home to sign for ES Metlaoui

Tunisia right-back Ayoub Tlili has joined ES Metlaoui from Al-Tadamon SCC, returning to Ligue 1 on a permanent deal. The 31-year-old has signed a contract with the Tunisian top-flight side running until 30 June 2028.

Tlili, whose preferred position is right-back, moves back to his home country after a spell with Al-Tadamon, having left the Yemeni club this summer. His arrival strengthens ES Metlaoui’s defensive options with an experienced domestic campaigner secured on a long-term agreement.

The defender has built a substantial record in Tunisian football, making 118 Ligue 1 appearances and featuring regularly in domestic cup and play-off matches. Across all domestic competitions, he has accumulated well over 10,000 minutes on the pitch, underlining his status as a consistent selection at club level.

Tlili’s career has taken in several clubs in Tunisia’s top division. After early spells with EGS Gafsa and Club Africain, he established himself at US Ben Guerdane and later Stade Tunisien, before moving abroad to join Al-Najma and then Al-Tadamon. He has also had experience in continental competition, with appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Born on 29 November 1994, the right-footed defender now commits the next two seasons to ES Metlaoui as he resumes his career in the Tunisian Ligue 1.
