Madou Diakite: Mali-Spain goalkeeper linked with Sint-Truiden move from free agency

Mali-Spain goalkeeper Madou Diakite, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Belgian side Sint-Truiden in the Jupiler Pro League.

The 22-year-old left Italian outfit Triestina on 25 February 2026 and is available as a free agent, making him an accessible target as Sint-Truiden assess options in goal. Diakite, a 1.88m left-footed goalkeeper, most recently spent time on loan at Finnish club FC KTP before returning to Triestina at the end of 2025.

Diakite’s situation has shifted quickly over the past two seasons. After a spell without a club, he joined Triestina in October 2023, then moved to FC KTP on loan in March 2025. He went back to Triestina when that deal expired at the end of the year, before his contract there ended in late February 2026.

Born on 22 July 2004, Diakite is eligible for both Mali and Spain, and his dual-nationality background, combined with recent experience in Italy and Finland, has made him a notable name on the late-summer goalkeeper market.

Sint-Truiden are understood to be exploring the possibility of adding Diakite on a free, with his previous highest recorded market valuation standing at €50,000 during his time between Triestina and FC KTP. No agreement has been reached and talks have not been finalised, with Diakite remaining unattached as clubs continue to shape their squads ahead of the new campaign.
