Bayern sporting director Max Eberl rules out further summer signings

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl says the club have completed their transfer business for this summer and are not planning any further signings before the end of the window.

Speaking to reporters, Eberl made clear he considers Bayern’s incoming deals to be finished after the arrivals of Nathaniel Brown and Morocco international Ismael Saibari.

“I smile every time I read the transfer rumours this summer,” Eberl said, when asked about continued speculation linking Bayern with additional recruits.

He added: “We wrapped up the Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari deals very quickly, and I thought it was clear that we had already finished our signings.”

Brown has joined Bayern from Eintracht Frankfurt, while Saibari has arrived from PSV Eindhoven.

Transfer rumours dismissed

Eberl stressed he has been amused rather than alarmed by reports of further possible additions to the squad.

“I smiled whenever I saw the names being linked with us, because these rumours have nothing to do with reality. Their accuracy rate is 0%,” he said.

German broadcaster Sky Sport Germany has reported that Bayern are unlikely to bring in any more players during the current transfer window.

Eberl did, however, leave the door slightly open to a late move if the right opportunity unexpectedly emerges.

At most one more signing

According to Sky Sport Germany, the Bavarian club would only consider making, in the most extreme scenario, one additional signing – and only if a suitable option becomes available in the market.

Eberl’s comments underline Bayern’s stance that, following the signings of Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt and Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, the squad is effectively set for the coming season unless circumstances change late in the window.
