Yassir Zabiri Nears Loan Move to Racing Santander

Racing Santander are on the verge of completing the signing of Moroccan striker Yassir Zabiri from Stade Rennais, with the two clubs close to finalising a season-long loan agreement.

According to Foot Mercato, only a handful of details remain before the move is officially confirmed, with the 20-year-old expected to spend the upcoming campaign in Spain.

The proposed transfer represents another important step in the development of one of Morocco’s brightest young footballers.

Zabiri has attracted growing attention in recent years thanks to his performances at both club and international level, earning a reputation as one of the country’s most promising attacking talents.

The forward began his football journey in Morocco before continuing his development in Portugal with FC Famalicão. His progress there eventually earned him a move to French side Stade Rennais in a transfer reportedly worth close to €10 million.

The deal also provided a significant financial return to the Mohammed VI Football Academy, where the striker developed during the early stages of his career.

Despite his age, Zabiri has already gained valuable experience and continues to be viewed as a player with considerable potential.

His technical quality, athletic ability and room for further development have made him an attractive prospect in the European transfer market.

On the international stage, the striker has also built an impressive reputation with Morocco’s youth teams.

He captained the national under-20 side and played an important role in the Atlas Lions’ historic triumph at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, further enhancing his standing among Europe’s emerging talents.

Racing Santander were not the only club monitoring the young forward’s situation. Reports indicate that several Ligue 1 sides also expressed interest after being impressed by his displays during the first half of last season.

His performances, combined with his long-term potential, placed him among the most closely watched young attackers available during the current transfer window.

Although Zabiri remains under contract with Stade Rennais, interest in his services has continued to grow. Clubs have been drawn not only by his ability in the final third but also by the experience he has accumulated despite still being only 20 years old.

With negotiations now entering their final stages, Racing Santander appear well positioned to secure his signature on loan. Should the remaining details be completed as expected, the Moroccan international will continue his development in Spanish football while seeking regular first-team opportunities during the new season.
