Dalil Ali: French-Algerian right-back joins Lokomotiv Plovdiv on free transfer from Titus Petange

French-Algerian defender Dalil Ali has joined Lokomotiv Plovdiv on a free transfer from Luxembourg side Titus Petange. The 22-year-old right-back moves to the Bulgarian efbet Liga club after his contract in the Ehrenpromotion came to an end.

Ali, who was born in Thionville and stands at 1.83m, has built a reputation as an attacking full-back, operating primarily on the right side of defence and favouring his right foot. He arrives in Plovdiv with senior experience in Luxembourg’s top flight and cup competitions, as well as youth football in France and Portugal.

The defender spent the last two seasons with Titus Petange, having joined them in 2024, and featured regularly in the BGL Ligue, where he made 57 appearances, scoring five goals and providing four assists. Across league and domestic cup action in Luxembourg, he totalled more than 4,500 minutes on the pitch and added further goals in the Coupe de Luxembourg.

Before his move to Luxembourg, Ali came through the youth ranks at Metz, progressing from Metz Youth to their U17 and U19 sides, before brief spells with Villerupt-Thil and the youth teams of Portuguese club Gil Vicente. He advanced from Gil Vicente’s U19s to their U23s in 2023 before earning his first senior move abroad.

Ali’s move to Lokomotiv Plovdiv was completed on 29 July 2026 as a free transfer, with the defender leaving Titus Petange at the end of his deal to embark on the next stage of his career in Bulgaria.
