Amath Ndiaye: Real Valladolid winger linked with surprise switch to Polish side Wieczysta

Amath Ndiaye, the Senegalese-Spanish right winger currently at Real Valladolid, is being linked with a move to Ekstraklasa club Wieczysta in what would be one of the more unexpected transfer stories of the summer window. The 30-year-old, who wears the No. 11 shirt for the LaLiga2 side, is under contract at Valladolid until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require the Polish club to negotiate a transfer fee rather than pursue a free move.

Wieczysta’s interest comes at a time when Ndiaye’s market value stands at around €600,000, a figure significantly below the €5m peak he once reached earlier in his career. That difference in valuation is likely to be a key factor in any talks, with the Ekstraklasa outfit sensing an opportunity to bring in an experienced wide player from Spanish football at a relatively modest cost.

Born in Dakar on 16 July 1996 and comfortable operating on the right flank, Ndiaye returned to Valladolid on a permanent basis on 1 July 2024, when the club paid €2m to sign him from RCD Mallorca after an initial loan spell. His move back to Castile and Leon followed a series of switches within Spanish football, including previous stints at Getafe and Atletico Madrid earlier in his career.

Valladolid must now weigh up whether to cash in on the right-footed winger two years before the end of his deal or keep him as part of their squad for the remainder of their current campaign in Spain’s second tier. For the moment, Ndiaye remains a Real Valladolid player with his long-term future at the club still to be resolved.
