Cheick Conde: Guinea midfielder joins SK Beveren on free transfer from Venezia

Guinea defensive midfielder Cheick Conde has joined Belgian side SK Beveren on a free transfer from Venezia.

The 26-year-old has signed a contract with the Jupiler Pro League club until 30 June 2028 after leaving the Serie A outfit at the end of his deal. It is a permanent move and follows a loan spell last season with Austrian side Blau Weiss Linz, which concluded in June before his return to Italy.

Conde, born in Conakry and standing at 1.85m, is a right-footed holding midfielder who has built up experience across several European leagues. He first moved into top-flight European football with Trinity Zlin in the Czech Republic before earning a switch to Swiss side FC Zurich in 2022. From there he joined Venezia in January 2025 for €2m.

Across his club career he has featured regularly in domestic top divisions, including the Swiss Super League, Serie A and the Austrian Bundesliga, as well as in European competition. He has made more than 70 appearances in the Swiss Super League alone, adding goals and assists from his deep-lying midfield role, and has also appeared in the Europa League and its qualifying rounds, plus Champions League qualifying ties.

Conde arrives at Beveren with an estimated market value of €700,000 and a contract running for two seasons, becoming one of the club’s notable summer additions as they prepare for the new Jupiler Pro League campaign.
