Ivory Coast star Ibrahim Sangare delighted after Nottingham Forest contract extension

Ivory Coast international Ibrahim Sangare has shared his excitement after signing a long-term contract extension with Nottingham Forest.

Sangare signed a three-year extension with the Premier League outfit, keeping him at the City Ground until June 2029.

The new deal underlines Forest’s confidence in the 28-year-old, who has become an influential figure in the squad since arriving from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven in September 2023.

Despite facing challenges during his time in England, Sangare has remained a key member of the team and will now continue his journey with the Premier League club for at least another three years.

“It’s been three years here and it has become a family for me in that time. I feel good, I have learned a lot, and worked hard to get to this point. I’m really looking forward to working with the new coach and for the season to start.”

Since joining Nottingham Forest from PSV Eindhoven in September 2023, Sangare has established himself as one of the club’s most reliable midfielders. Across all competitions, he has made 77 appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists while earning praise for his physical presence, defensive awareness and ability to control the tempo in midfield.

His contract extension comes as a significant boost for Nottingham Forest ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with the club keen to retain the core of its squad as it looks to build on recent progress in the Premier League.
