Zakaria Eddahchouri: Deportivo La Coruna striker linked with Sporting Gijon move
Netherlands-Morocco forward Zakaria Eddahchouri of Deportivo La Coruna is being linked with a switch to fellow Spanish side Sporting Gijon in LaLiga2. The 26-year-old centre-forward, who wears the No 9 shirt at Riazor, has emerged as a potential attacking option for Gijon as they assess ways to strengthen their front line before the new campaign.
Eddahchouri is under contract with Deportivo until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal is likely to require a significant fee rather than a cut-price exit. His current market valuation stands at around €2.5 million, reflecting his growing importance since arriving in Spain.
Deportivo signed Eddahchouri from Dutch club Telstar on 30 January 2025, paying a reported €300,000 to bring him in midway through the season. Since moving to Spain, he has adapted quickly to the demands of the second tier, registering 16 goals and 4 assists in 52 LaLiga2 appearances and averaging a goal roughly every other game in terms of minutes played.
Before leaving the Netherlands, Eddahchouri built his reputation with a prolific spell in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, scoring 31 times in 77 appearances, and also impressed in the Dutch third tier with 16 goals in 30 matches. Born in Papendrecht and standing at 1.87m, he operates through the middle and favours his right foot.
While Sporting Gijon’s level of interest has not progressed to an agreement, Deportivo are in a strong position to negotiate, with Eddahchouri tied to the Galician club for another two seasons beyond the coming campaign.
