Yassine Berchani: Tunisian midfielder joins Qilwah Club on free transfer from AS Kasserine

Tunisian defensive midfielder Yassine Berchani has joined Saudi Arabian side Qilwah Club on a free transfer from AS Kasserine. The 25-year-old completes the move ahead of the 2026-27 campaign after two seasons in Tunisian football’s professional ranks.

Berchani arrives at Qilwah as a specialist in the holding midfield role, adding protection in front of the back line and depth to the club’s central options. The switch marks his first move outside Tunisia and continues a rapid rise through the domestic game in recent years.

The midfielder had been on the books of AS Kasserine since August 2024, having previously played for AS Gabes and EM Mahdia. His performances there earned him a place in Kasserine’s squad before securing his latest step with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Berchani has already gained experience in knockout competition, making four appearances in the Tunisian Cup and featuring for more than 360 minutes in the tournament. That run helped to showcase his ability to operate in high-pressure fixtures before his departure from Kasserine.

Born on 23 September 2000, Berchani is entering what should be the prime years of his career, with Qilwah positioning him as a central figure in their midfield rebuild. The transfer was finalised on 28 July 2026, with Berchani now registered as a Qilwah Club player following his free transfer from AS Kasserine.
